Win10 1709 Newly imaged PC not honoring custom default apps (Firefox). Pretty standard stuff, mainly just setting Adobe Reader DC as the default PDF handler, but also setting Firefox as the default web browser (tech dept policy in our district). I just blow away the profile, log in as admin, delete profile folder in c:Users and in registry, then log in as them again. This should give you a chance to set default apps for extensions.

I don't know if the following is practical for your environment. Will it take a lot of time to customize? Do you already have redirected folders set up? Or will you need to back all their files up first?

Maybe there's a less extreme way to fix this particular issue, but my tendency with weird things like this is to nuke it and walk away.
